Power Plate
Power Plate training or Vibration training as it is also known, is a very effective way of keeping your body in shape with virtually no effort and in a very
short time.
You can get the same muscle results as you would in a 45-60 minute gym workout, in only 10 minutes with the Power Plate.
Scientific studies have proved Power Plate can be beneficial for;
- Increasing range of motion, flexibility, reactivity and balance
- Improving muscle tone
- Reducing lower back pain
- Can significantly improve elderly peoples' quality of life
- Can aid significant weight loss when combined with a healthy diet
Who is suitable for Power Plate training?
Power plate training is suitable for everyone over the age of 12, whether they are sports people, recreational athletes, senior citizens, people with health
problems, people with physical limitations, people who struggle with weight problems or gym haters etc. There are only a few medical conditions where you will
need your doctor's consent before commencing with a Power Plate session; these can be discussed in your free consultation.
Will Power Plate training cause me to lose weight?
Power Plate training has a large influence on many of the processes which are involved with losing weight. Training on the Power Plate has been shown to
increase metabolism, which means you will burn more calories while exercising and the hormones released during a Power Plate session also have a significant
effect on reducing fatty tissue. However, as with any training regime, you will have to control your calorie intake to see any changes.
It is recommended to drink 500ml of a glucose drink half an hour before training – why?
Many people do not drink enough water on a daily basis, which can cause temporary headaches when training intensively. Power Plate training also causes the
blood glucose levels to drop rapidly and as we are in a nation with bad eating habits, blood glucose levels are often low before we exercise. If levels were
to drop too much, it may lead to hypoglycaemia. This is why it is strongly advised to drink a glucose drink before training. It should be noted though, that
this is the case with any type of intensive training and not just when using the Power Plate.
Can the vibrations from a Power Plate session be harmful?
It is important to note that the Power Plate complies with the ISO standards for industrial use, so as long as training does not exceed 2 hours a day (it is
useless to train more than 20 minutes a day anyway). Power Plate training can actually be much safer than any other sporting activity.
How many times a week should I do Power Plate training?
To achieve a training effect, you need to keep overloading the body, so that it adapts to withstand the extra stimuli. Even using the machines once a week would
be beneficial, but to achieve optimum results, we recommend that you train 3 times a week so that the frequent stimulation helps you to achieve your training
goal more quickly.
How many days rest period do I need between training sessions?
Due to the nature of Power Plate training, recovery times after training are greatly reduced when compared to conventional training. Therefore, you can train
on the Power Plate every day if you have gradually increased your training intensity and are comfortable to do so.
